So how long does it take to do a carving?

Standard time is 19 days to have your carving ready for shipping / pickup.

When should you order?

We recommend to enquire or order as soon as you've decided you would like Koncarve to do the carving.  Then the carving can be prepared and ready before the due date.

I would like specific tribal designs in my custom carving...how do I go about this?

If you require specific designs, then please provide the specific artwork or information/documents with your order/enquiry.  It is important that you provide this information if you want specific detail in your carving, then the carver can design from this.  Koncarve is contemporary maori carving, which means generally not sourcing from specific traditional, even sensitive tribal designs without your request to do so. 

What about postage?

[Price change 22-02-11]  For all carving items (except bone pendants) Nationwide Courier NZ is $22 and International Economy Courier (2-6 working days) is $35.  All items are posted by courier + tracking and will require a signature upon delivery so unfortunately parcels cannot be posted to PO Boxes.  If you are not home when delivered, the courier will leave a Card to call where you can call to make re-delivery arrangements or pickup from their designated depot within 1-3 days.

Your item will be posted 1 day after payment has been made and you'll receive the tracking code by email.

How is payment made?

You can pay by direct Bank Deposit, Credit Card (Paypal) or Cash (Pickup only).  Please ask or notify when ordering.

Returns

Unfortunately there are no returns on items picked up.  Please review your carving before paying on pick-up.

What does 'Showcase Only' Mean?

It means the carving has been sold or unavailable and is for showcasing only.  You can still make an enquiry on the carving and we'll reply with details of the carving and the $ value, total cost which will give you an idea of a price for a similar carving.

Can I provide my own native wood to carve on?

Yes. 'Ask a question about this product' if you like one of our keys or other carvings and mention you have your own native wood and state which kind of wood - kauri, rimu, totara etc. along with size: length, width and depth.  Once your enquiry has been quoted and confirmed, you will be given details to ship or drop off your wood to the carver.
